The Central Florida Watercolor Society is an outgrowth of an organization known as the "Aquamedia Society." This group of watercolor enthusiasts was first organized in Orlando by Ken Austin and developed by volunteer officers in the spring of 1998. The name "Central Florida Watercolor Society" was chosen by the attending artists, and the first year began in September of 1998. During that first year of organization, the membership increased to 120. It is the intent of the Society's participating artists to open its meetings to anyone interested in watercolor regardless of their expertise. Consequently the membership consists of a mix of accomplished artists willing to share their knowledge, as well as novice members eager to learn more. Guests are welcome at meetings.
